发明名称 Non-linear lighting system brightness control for a user device
摘要 This disclosure relates to systems and methods adjusting lighting system brightness in a non-linear manner. The brightness control may be based on a non-linear function that increases brightness in smaller increments at lower brightness levels than at higher brightness levels. In another embodiment, the lighting system brightness may be ramped down over a period of time to account when the user device is exposed to low light conditions. The ramp down may be based, at least in part, on changes in visual acuity in low light conditions over time.

主权项 1. A system, comprising: at least one memory that stores computer-executable instructions; a display; a front lighting system to provide at least partial illumination to a surface of the display, the front lighting system comprising light emitting diodes; at least one current regulator to control a current flow to the light emitting diodes; and at least one processor configured to access the at least one memory and execute the computer-executable instructions to: determine a brightness adjustment being made using the display, the brightness adjustment based, at least in part, on a brightness scale comprising a first portion of brightness increments and a second portion of brightness increments; adjust, using the at least one current regulator, the current flow to the light emitting diodes from a first amount of current to a second amount of current based, at least in part, on a non-linear function that specifies smaller incremental changes in the current flow to the light emitting diodes for brightness adjustment within the first portion as compared to brightness adjustment within the second portion; and cause the light emitting diodes to emit light based, at least in part, on the second amount of current.
