PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded magnet motor capable of enlarging reluctance torque while preventing yield of a permanent magnet from being deteriorated and preventing a waveform of an induction voltage from being significantly distorted from a sinusoidal wave.SOLUTION: An embedded magnet motor 100 is configured in such a manner that, by making a diameter R3 of an intermediate portion 20c smaller than a diameter R1 of a portion 20a corresponding to a d-axis of a rotor core 20 and a diameter R2 of a portion 20b corresponding to a q-axis, an air gap 31 between a stator core 10 and a rotor core 20 in the intermediate portion 20c becomes larger than an air gap 32 (air gap 33) in the portion 20a corresponding to the d-axis (the portion 20b corresponding to the q-axis) in the rotor core 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
