PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reduction of noise in an imaging device in which two photoelectric converters share an amplifier.SOLUTION: An imaging device has first and second photoelectric converters, a charge holder for holding charges, first and second transfer transistors for transferring charges of the first and second photoelectric converters to the charge holder respectively, and an amplifier for outputting a signal based on the charges of the charge holder. In a first control operation, from a state that both the first and second transfer transistors are under OFF-state, the second transfer transistor maintains OFF-state and the first transfer transistor is set to ON-state. In a second control operation, both the first and second transfer transistors are set to ON-state. The difference between the control voltage in the ON-state of the first transfer transistor and the control voltage in the OFF-state of the first transfer transistor in the first control operation is smaller than the difference between the control voltage of the ON-state of the first transfer transistor and the control voltage of the OFF-state of the first transfer transistor in the second operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
