PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To break through a current situation that a physical switch designed to validate a feature concerning autonomous travel has to be manipulated in order to validate the feature.SOLUTION: A travel system includes a navigation unit that includes a map information storage which stores map information, a current position information acquirer which acquires current position information, an accepter which accepts destination information, a route searcher that uses the map information, current position information, and destination information to search a route from a current position represented by the current position information to a destination represented by the destination information, and thus acquires route information, an output section which outputs the route information, and a transmitter which transmits an autonomous travel instruction to an automobile in response to acceptance of the destination information, and the automobile that includes an onboard receiving unit which receives the autonomous travel instruction, and an onboard control unit that begins performing control for autonomous travel in response to receiving of the autonomous travel instruction. Owing to the travel system, a feature concerning autonomous travel can be validated without the necessity of manipulating a physical switch designed to validate the feature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
