PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a display body that is capable of determining authenticity without using any special tool and has excellent design; an article with the display body; and a method of determining authenticity of the display body and the article with the display body.SOLUTION: A display body includes a polymer membrane. The polymer membrane has a structure that a first phase and a second phase of different kinds are alternately laminated in a film thickness direction. At least one of the first phase and the second phase has nature that swells by suction of liquid and contracts upon drying. One surface of the polymer membrane has an uneven structure that produces at least one optical effect selected from the group consisting of diffraction, interference, and scattering.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
