PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a time for full charging of a battery by drastically increasing a charging rate in a pulse charge stage.SOLUTION: A method of rapidly charging a battery includes the following (1)-(4) steps: (1) a charge is performed at a constant current Ifor a charging time t; (2) a charge is performed at a constant current Ifor a charging time t; (3) a discharge is performed at the constant current Ifor a discharging time t, the steps (1)-(3) being repeated in the manner until reaching a pre-charge voltage of a battery; and (4) the battery is let stand for a standing time tafter reaching the pre-charge voltage of a battery, then a charge is performed at a constant current I, and a charge is performed at a constant voltage until decreasing to a cutoff current Iafter reaching a cutoff voltage of a battery. In the steps, I<I, t<t, t<t, I<I≤Iand I≤Iare satisfied.EFFECT: Polarization can be reduced in a pulse charge stage, so that the overall pulse charge time can be increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
