PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing machine capable of surely detecting the fact of nipping foreign matter in a lateral seal.SOLUTION: A packing machine comprises a pair of seal means 71 and 72 provided along the orthogonal direction to the feeding direction of a film of a packing object and heat-sealing the film by sandwiching from both upper-lower sides so as to form a lateral seal on the film, support bodies 9 and 10 vertically provided in a pair so as to respectively support the pair of seal means, a guide body for guiding one among both support bodies in the vertical direction, elastic bodies 13 and 14 for energizing so that the one support body is guided by the guide body in the relatively approaching direction of the mutual seal means when forming the lateral seal and a foreign matter detection device 21 for detecting the existence of nipping of foreign matter in the lateral seal. The packing machine has a pair of electric contact points 22 and 23 as the foreign matter detection device, for contacting or separating by guiding the one support body by the guide body against elasticity of an elastic body for nipping the foreign matter in the lateral seal when forming the lateral seal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
