PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition that has both high transparency and good thermal stability during melt molding and additionally has good mold processability with reduced process contamination during mold processing and to provide a method for producing the polyester composition.SOLUTION: A polyester resin composition contains 0.01 to 15 mol/t of an iodine element, 0.02 to 2 mol/t of a titanium element with an antimony element content of 0.10 mol/t or less, based on the polyester resin composition. Preferably, it contains 0.1 to 20 mol/t of an alkali metal element and 0.1 to 20 mol/t of an alkali earth metal element, a magnesium element or a manganese element and more preferably, it contains 0.1 to 10 mol/t of a phosphorus element and has a molar ratio of the content M1 of an alkali metal element, the content M2 of an alkali earth metal element, a magnesium element or a manganese element and a phosphorus element content P satisfying the relationship of formula (I): 0.3≤M/P≤4.5, M=(M2+M1/2)SELECTED DRAWING: None |
