The present invention relates to a pouch case for a secondary battery and a pouch type secondary battery including the same. The pouch case of the present invention includes an internal resin layer, a metal layer, and an external resin layer. The resin layers include a foaming activator containing an isocyanate-based compound and a polyol-based compound. By having the internal and external resin layers including the foaming activator, a protective layer including urethane-based foam inside the external resin layer or between the internal resin layer and an electrode assembly can be formed within a short period of time if water enters due to external factors, thereby protecting the pouch and the electrode assembly, blocking moisture from entering the electrode assembly, and preventing a crack on a separation film. Accordingly, explosion which can be caused by permeation of moisture, a crack on the separation film, or a short generated by contact between the pouch and electrode assembly can be prevented, thereby securing the safety of the pouch type secondary battery. |
