PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical control device which, at emergency stop, switches from normal gain to a high gain previously calculated for use in emergency stop, and exerts emergency stop while maintaining position control as is, thereby reducing a motor stopping distance.SOLUTION: (a) is a drawing explaining normal stop by position control, (b) is a drawing explaining emergency stop by speed control, and (c) is a drawing explaining emergency stop by position control after switching to high gain, where quick stopping, because of high gain, is excepted by switching gains. As the result of conventional emergency stop shown in (b) being executed, a gain in position control for emergency stop is calculated by formula 1, where V represents a speed till deceleration begins, and L represents the amount of movement from the start of deceleration to stoppage.
