The present invention relates to a vertical centrifugal separator that separates sludge of sewage by a centrifugal force, and more particularly to a vertical centrifugal separator including: a frame; an outer tub vertically supported on the bottom surface of the frame by the frame, having an interior space such that an introduction pipe through which sewage is introduced is formed at a lower portion thereof, and having a discharge pipe, through which the introduced sewage is discharged, on an upper outer surface thereof; a central shaft formed at an upper central portion of the outer tub, a first driving unit that rotates and drives the central shaft; an impeller formed in the interior of the outer tub and rotated as the outer tub is rotated; and a second driving unit that drives the impeller. As described above, the vertical centrifugal separator according to the present invention has a remarkable effect of performing an effective separation operation according to the rotational speeds of the outer tub and the impeller, and performing a continuous operation while interworking the centrifugal separator to separate a large amount of sewage.
