Provided are an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus capable of producing a combined image having all the advantages of each image and a control method thereof by producing images by fundamental wave components of ultrasonic wave signals and combining the same with images by harmonic components. According to an embodiment, the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus comprises: a transmitting beam producing unit for producing multiple sets of transmitting beams which are transmitted to different transmitting scanning lines and of which the sum of the waveform is 0; a receiving beam producing unit for producing receiving beams for at least one receiving scanning line considering a probable transmission delay of the transmitting beams in each transmitting scanning line; a signal processing unit for extracting fundamental wave components and harmonic components from the receiving beams; a combining unit for producing combined signals by combining the fundamental wave components and harmonic components by the predetermined synthetic ratio; and a display unit for displaying the combined images composed of the combined signals. |
