PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly calculate an estimation value of the charge state of an entire battery pack so that processing for protection in the case of overcharge or overdischarge can be performed appropriately and precisely when the charge state of each battery cell of the battery pack is out of a normal usage acceptable range.SOLUTION: A battery pack charge state estimation device 100 is for estimating a charge state of a battery block 10 formed of multiple battery cells 11, and includes: a battery cell charge state estimation unit 14 estimating the charge state of each battery cell; a maximum-value and minimum-value recognition unit 15 recognizing a maximum value and a minimum value from the estimation values of charge states of the battery cells; and a battery pack charge state estimation unit 16 determining the maximum value to be the estimation value of the charge state of the battery block when the maximum value is larger than the upper limit of the normal usage acceptable range of the battery cells, determining the minimum value to be the estimation value of the charge state of the battery block when the minimum value is smaller than the lower limit of the acceptable range, and determining a value between the maximum value and the minimum value to be the estimation value of the charge state of the battery block when the maximum value is smaller than the upper limit and the minimum value is larger than the lower limit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
