PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing density determination method which can automatically determine energy suitable for printing for each scene where the printer is used.SOLUTION: A CPU of a printer acquires print data indicating a test pattern (S1), sets energy to be applied for printing the test pattern (S2), prints the first test pattern and the second test pattern with the set energy on the basis of the print data indicating the test pattern (S3, S5), acquires the first OD value and the second OD value being the OD value of each of the first test pattern and the second test pattern (S4, S6), calculates a subtraction value obtained by subtracting the second OD value from the first OD value (S8), and determines whether or not the subtraction value is equal to or less than 0 (S9).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
