PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of highly accurately separating mixed refractories including a plurality of refractories having different apparent densities into respective kinds of refractories.SOLUTION: A separation method for separating mixed refractories including a plurality of refractories having different apparent densities into respective kinds of refractories comprises: breaking the mixed refractories; immersing the broken mixed refractories in water to allow the mixed refractories to absorb water; drying the mixed refractories to adjust water content contained in the mixed refractories; and separating the water-content-adjusted mixed refractories into respective kinds of refractories according to the apparent density.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
