PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an X-ray image tube, arranged to be able to cope with the incidence of a large quantity of X rays.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an X-ray image tube 13 having an input face serving to convert X rays coming thereinto to electrons, an output face opposed to the input face and serving to convert the electrons into visible light, thereby forming a visible light image, and electrodes serving to accelerate and focus the electrons between the input face and the output face comprises the steps of: applying a predetermined voltage to the electrodes if a quantity of the X rays incident on the X-ray image tube 13 is within a predetermined value; and lowering the voltage to be applied to the electrodes to under the predetermined voltage if the quantity of the X rays incident on the X-ray image tube 13 is over the predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
