PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency assisted magnetic recording head using a spin torque oscillation element capable of reducing a drive current for high frequency oscillation.SOLUTION: The spin torque oscillation element includes: a lamination structure which includes a spin injection layer, a nonmagnetic intermediate layer formed over the spin injection layer, and an oscillation layer formed over the nonmagnetic intermediate layer; and a nonmagnetic conductive layer formed on the side wall of the lamination structure.
