PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing isobutyraldehyde efficiently while preventing degradation of methanol which is a starting material.SOLUTION: A producing method of isobutyraldehyde includes: a first step of producing isobutanol by reacting at least one kind selected from a group consisting of ethanol and propanol with methanol under a presence of hydroxyapatite; and a second step of dehydrogenating the isobutanol of the first step. In the first step, a ratio shown with (mole number of methanol)/(mole number of the at least one kind selected from the group consisting of ethanol and propanol) is 2.0-15.SELECTED DRAWING: None
