A structure for attaching an exhaust gas sensor of an internal combustion engine in which a first exhaust passage part (72A) of which an upstream inlet (72Aa) is opened and closed by a first exhaust valve (74A), a second exhaust passage part (72B) of which an upstream inlet (72Ba) is opened and closed by a second exhaust valve (74B), and a merging passage part (72C) where the downstream sides of the first exhaust passage part and the second exhaust passage part merge are formed in a cylinder head (42) of an internal combustion engine (4), and an exhaust gas sensor (7) is attached to the cylinder head with a detection unit (7a) of the exhaust gas sensor positioned in the merging passage part, wherein: a guide part (80) is formed at a position upstream of the exhaust gas sensor in an inner wall surface (76A) of the merging passage part on the side facing the exhaust gas sensor; the guide part is formed by causing the inner wall surface to bulge, guiding exhaust gas toward the exhaust gas sensor; the exhaust gas is satisfactorily mixed and led to the exhaust gas sensor; and the precision of detection by the exhaust gas sensor is improved. |
