PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scribing method and a scribing device capable of performing high quality breaking throughout a whole circumference of a glass sheet including a sharp convex curve portion and a bent portion in a manner of changing a posture of a cutter wheel with respect to a glass sheet surface while scribing the glass sheet having the sharp convex curve portion and the bent portion.SOLUTION: A scribing device 1 forms a closed curve of a scribe line 4 on a surface 3 of a glass sheet 2 with a blade surface 9 of a cutter wheel 5 permanently directed to a normal direction 8 of a profile line 10 by controlling an angle of the cutter wheel 5 around an axial line 37 orthogonal to an X-Y plane coordinate system while moving the cutter wheel 5 and the gass sheet 2 along the profile line on the X-Y plane coordinate system. The scribing device 1 is also adapted to, while transferring in forming the scribing line 4, switch the posture of the cutter wheel 5 between a vertical posture 11 vertically standing up with respect to the surface 3 of the glass sheet 2 and an inclined posture 12 inclined with respect to the surface 3 of the glass sheet 2 in the normal direction 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
