PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide history generation device and method that can efficiently generate a high-quality image for a personal history with a small data amount.SOLUTION: A personal history generation device has an image generator for generating a first image (S1) and generating attribute information representing the attribute of each pixel of the first image (S2), an image reader for reading an image formed on a sheet based on the first image and generating a second image (S5), an area determining unit for determining a character area in the second image, and a personal history generator for separating areas where the attribute is characters, from the second image on the basis of the attribute information (S8), further separating the character areas determined by the area determining unit from the second image after the separation (S9), subjecting each of the separated character areas to first compression processing (S10), separating areas other than the characters from the second image, subjecting the areas to second compression processing having a different processing condition from the first compression processing (S11), and integrating the thus-obtained character areas and areas other than the characters to generate an image for a personal history (S12).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
