PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal capable of suppressing contact of a rotary ring and a stationary ring, by enhancing dynamic pressure.SOLUTION: A mechanical seal includes a rotary ring 110 and a stationary ring that are arranged so that respective seal end surfaces are opposite to each other. In the mechanical seal, purge gas is supplied to a sealed region formed inside the radial direction of the rotary ring 110 and stationary ring, and on the seal end surface of the rotary ring 110, a dynamic pressure generation groove communicating with the inside of the radial direction (a side where the sealed region is formed) is formed. The dynamic pressure generation groove is formed by a groove with a step in which a depth of a groove in a portion communicating with the sealed region is deep.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
