PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension controller and a tension control method capable of suppressing variation of tension.SOLUTION: A tension controller 10 controls tension of a rolling device 1 which applies roll force to a rolled material 70 which is discharged from a pay-off reel 30 for rolling the rolled material, then winds the rolled material with predetermined tension by a tension reel 50 driven by a motor 15. The tension controller comprises: an input unit 11; a control unit 20; and a motor controller 13. The control unit comprises a storage unit 21, a calculation unit 23, and a tension control unit 25. The storage unit stores a rotary angle of the tension reel and tension applied to the rolled material. The calculation unit calculates a function indicating relationship between the rotary angle and tension, on the basis of the rotary angle and tension stored in the storage unit. The calculation unit predicts and calculates a correction value of a tension variation amount according to the rotary angle, on the basis of the function, and the rotary angle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
