PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for internal combustion engine capable of effectively improving heat dissipation of the ignition coil.SOLUTION: An ignition coil 1 comprises: a primary coil 21 and a secondary coil 22; a center core 3 formed from a soft magnetic material; a square annular outer peripheral core 4 formed from a soft magnetic material; a case 5; and an insulation resin 6. The case 5 is formed from a metal material and includes: a case opening 51 that is turned in a penetration direction L of the outer peripheral core 4; a case end face 52 that is provided at a side opposite to the case opening 51; and a square annular case side face 53 erected from the case end face 52. Outer side faces 411 of a pair of core parts 41 in parallel with a central axis line direction C of the center core 3 in the outer peripheral core 4 are opposite to inner side faces 532 of a pair of case side face portions 531 which are opposite to each other, in the case side face 53.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
