PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica-containing rubber composition that uses a cyclic olefin ring-opened polymer such as cyclopentene ring-opened polymer which is an alternative material for BR (Butadiene Rubber) and SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) and that has improved processability and improved dispersion property of silica and that enables fuel economy to be improved when used in a tire application.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the rubber composition for a tire is provided that contains a rubber component, silica and a silane coupling agent. The rubber component contains a cyclic olefin ring-opened polymer having in a polymer chain terminal, at least one kind of functional group selected from a group consisting of a hydroxyl group, an alkoxysilyl group, an aldehyde group, a carboxyl group, an amino group, an imino group, an epoxy group, an amide group, a thiol group and an ether group. The silane coupling agent contains a monosulfide group, the amount of the silane coupling agent is 0.3 to 20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the silica. In another embodiment, the rubber composition for a tire is provided that is the same as the above rubber composition except that the rubber composition further contains a crosslinking agent.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
