PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor of an employee, and to improve a degree of freedom when a customer selects a settlement device for performing settlement processing.SOLUTION: A checkout system includes: a merchandise registration device; and a settlement device. The merchandise registration device includes: first input means; generation means; recording means; and notification means. The first input means is configured to input identification data unique to a shopper. The generation means is configured to generate settlement information for the settlement of purchased merchandise. The notification means is configured to, in response to an inquiry from any of a plurality of settlement devices, notify the settlement device which has made the inquiry of the settlement information. The settlement device includes: second input means; inquiry means; and settlement means. The second input means is configured to input identification data. The inquiry means is configured to make an inquiry for the settlement information corresponding to the identification data input by the second input means to the merchandise registration device. The settlement means is configured to perform settlement processing on the basis of the settlement information of which the notification means has notified the settlement device in response to the inquiry.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
