PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator capable of performing temperature characteristic compensation.SOLUTION: An oscillator includes: a crystal oscillator; a first control terminal and a second control terminal to be connected to the crystal oscillator; a first temperature detection circuit for detecting a predetermined temperature and generating a first temperature signal; a temperature compensation signal generation part for generating a first control signal which is input to the first control terminal based on the first temperature signal and controls the oscillation frequency of the crystal oscillator; a variable gain amplifier for generating a second control signal which is input to the second control terminal based on a frequency control signal for controlling the oscillation frequency of the crystal oscillator and controls oscillation frequency of the crystal oscillator; a second temperature detection circuit for detecting a predetermined temperature and generating a second temperature signal; and a gain adjustment signal generation part for generating a gain adjustment signal for controlling gain of the variable gain amplifier based on the second temperature signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
