PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, which is able to improve assembly and durability for an ignition coil and heat dissipation for an igniter.SOLUTION: An ignition coil comprises: a primary coil, secondary coil, center core, outer peripheral coil, core mold 7, igniter, case, and a charging resin. The core mold 7 is made of resin and forms an outer shell for the outer peripheral core 6 by covering the periphery of the outer peripheral core 6. On the outer peripheral surface 701 of the core mold 7, an igniter pocket 72 is formed for arranging the igniter therein. A notch 73A for exposing part of the outer peripheral surface 61 of the outer peripheral core 6 is formed in an area opposite the igniter pocket 72, on the outer peripheral surface 701 of the core mold 7. The igniter is arranged in the igniter pocket 72 opposite part of the outer peripheral surface 61 of the outer peripheral core 6 via the notch 73A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
