PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter capable of removing both frequency offset and optical phase noise of a light source by a simple configuration, without using a high speed computing device.SOLUTION: An optical transmitter includes a CW light source, optical branch means for branching the output of the CW light source, data signal modulation means for generating an optical modulation signal having a carrier frequency of ωby modulating one output of the optical branch means, a bright-line spectrum generation means for generating a plurality of bright-line spectra having an optical frequency of ω±nω(n is a natural number, ωis the interval of angular frequency of each bright-line spectrum) by modulating the other output of the optical branch means, and multiplexing means for multiplexing the output from the data signal modulation means and the output from the bright-line spectrum generation means before being outputted to an optical transmission path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
