PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display assembly whose energy requirements can be satisfied even when incorporated in a portable object of small dimensions, and which operates in a satisfactory manner both in a well lit environment and in a dark environment.SOLUTION: A display assembly 1 for a portable object includes an at least partially transparent, emissive first display device 2 located on the side of an observer, a reflective second display device 6, and a solar cell 10, which are arranged in that order such that the reflective second display device 6 and the solar cell 10 are underneath the first emissive display device 2. The second reflective display device 6 is capable of switching between a transparent state, in which the device does not display any information, and a reflective state, in which the device is activated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
