A method of transmitting and receiving signals in a mobility management entity (MME) of a communications system according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps of: receiving a first request message from a terminal; transmitting a second request message associated with the terminal to a server based on the first request message; receiving a first response message including subscription information of the terminal from the server corresponding to the second request message; allocating a tracking area update (TAU) timer value of the terminal based on the subscription information of the terminal; and transmitting a second response message including the TAU timer value to the terminal. According to an embodiment of the present invention embodiment, communication can be performed efficiently.
