Embodiments of the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for providing a candidate word used for an auto-complete function. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method for providing the auto-complete candidate word includes the steps of: receiving information on a keyboard from a user device; receiving a character string from the user device; determining whether the last consonant of the character string can be converted into another consonant based on information on combination of consonants corresponding to the information on the keyboard; determining auto-complete candidate words corresponding to the character string based on the determination result; and transmitting the auto-complete candidate words to the user device. According to the embodiments of the present invention, auto-complete candidate words matched with the intention of the user can be provided by predicting a character string to be input from the keyboard used by the user. |
