According to an embodiment of the present invention, a liquid crystal display device comprises: a substrate including a pixel area and a peripheral area configured to surround the pixel area; a thin film transistor located on the pixel area of the substrate; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; a support member located on the pixel electrode and separated from the pixel electrode with a micro-space layer therebetween; a liquid crystal layer located in the micro-space layer; and a dam located in the peripheral area of the substrate. The pixel area is surrounded by the dam. A trench is formed between the dam and the pixel area. Therefore, the liquid crystal display device can increase accuracy when a liquid crystal material is dropped on a liquid crystal inlet.
