Disclosed are an air cleaner and a method for managing cleaning of an outlet of the air cleaner. The air cleaner may be configured to comprise: an outlet which is detachable from a housing and exhausts purified air; an outlet detection unit which detects whether the outlet has been attached to the housing; and a control unit which determines whether the time at which the outlet needs to be cleaned has been reached and whether to clean the outlet based on a result of the detection of the outlet detection unit. |
