The present invention relates to a gear housing (1) for a planetary gear (10), which accommodates components with sawteeth (8, 9, 11, 12, 13) constituting the planetary gear (10). The present invention also relates to a planetary gear having the gear housing and a method of manufacturing the gear housing. The gear housing (1) has a hollow cylindrical housing body (2) having internal sawteeth (3). Both end faces of the housing body (2) can be connected with mount flanges (4, 5). The housing body (2) and the at least one mount flange (4, 5) are designed to be overlapped in an axial direction at end faces thereof in order to form overlap areas (A, B). In the overlap areas (A, B), the housing body (2) and the at least one mount flange (4, 5) are designed to have a press connection (6). At least in the overlap areas (A, B), the housing body (2) and the at least one mount flange (4, 5) are made of materials that transmit a laser beam and materials which do not transmit a laser beam, respectively. The housing body (2) and the at least one mount flange (4, 5) are transmission-welded with each other at the overlap areas (A, B) by a laser beam which is emitted into the gear housing (1). By using the gear housing according to the present invention, a fully-plastic planetary gear can be manufactured. |
