The present invention relates to an automatic fire extinguishing apparatus which moves to an optimal fire extinguishing location to effectively contain a fire. The automatic fire extinguishing apparatus comprises: a frame; a detection unit to detect an ignition location; a fire extinguishing location determination unit to determine a fire extinguishing location where a fire is to be contained in accordance with the detected ignition location; a drive unit installed in the frame, moving the frame to the determined fire extinguishing location; and a fire extinguishing nozzle installed in the frame, and driven to be directed towards the ignition location when a fire occurs.
