SMART PLUG HAVING IR RECEIVER AND METHOD FOR REGISTRATION OF REMOTE CONTROLLER THEREOF

According to the present invention, disclosed are a smart plug having an infrared (IR) receiver and a remote controller registration method thereof for performing on/off operation of an electronic device with one control operation by operating the smart plug to control power supplied to the electronic device with the remote controller for the electronic device. The smart plug having the IR receiver comprises: a switching unit switching power supplied to a load; an IR receiving unit extended to the outside from a main unit by a predetermined length to receive an IR signal inputted from a remote controller; a control unit to control switching of the switching unit depending on information exchanged with the outside through an antenna or output of the IR receiving unit; and a DC power unit supplying DC voltage generated from the power to all circuits in a device including the switching unit and the IR receiving unit.
