The present invention relates to a motor unit for a starter motor. The motor unit has a storage space unit formed between support ribs in a closed type rear bracket in a circumferential direction to increase the length of a (+) brush in a shaft direction. Compared to a conventional technology, the present invention can extend the service life of a brush by adjusting the inner shape of the closed type rear bracket to manufacture the (+) brush which has a longer length in the shaft direction compared to an existing counterpart and is connected from the outside of the closed type rear bracket. The present invention also enables a grommet, which is mounted onto an opening of the closed type rear bracket opened to connect the (+) brush from the outside of the closed type rear bracket, to have a sufficient sealing force while not coming in contact with the inner surface of the closed type rear bracket, thereby expanding an available space in the closed type rear bracket.
