PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter coloring composition having high brightness and excellent fastness such as heat resistance and chemical resistance, and a color filter having good color characteristics and excellent fastness using the same.SOLUTION: A color filter coloring composition includes a coloring agent, a binder resin, and an organic solvent (D). The coloring agent contains a cyanine dye (ZC) represented by a general formula (1). The organic solvent (D) contains an organic solvent (D1) having a hydroxy group. The content of the organic solvent (D1) having the hydroxy group is 10 wt.% or more in 100 wt.% of the organic solvent in total.SELECTED DRAWING: None
