PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a device for a power storage system that can control a battery pack in consideration of the lifetime of the battery pack.SOLUTION: A control method and a device for a power storage system achieve parameter information representing the state of each of plural battery packs 34, determine degradation level of each of the plural battery packs 34 by using the achieved parameter information, group the plural battery packs 34 into plural groups on the basis of the determined degradation levels, specify the groups in the order of lowering priority corresponding to the degradation level which is settled for the plural groups, and actuate plural battery packs 34 belonging to the specified group for at least one of charging and discharging.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
