PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a chain tensioner which differs in hydraulic damper forces.SOLUTION: A chain tensioner comprises: an oil supply passage 13 which introduces a working fluid into a pressure chamber 12 surrounded by a cylinder 9 and a plunger 10; a check valve 14 at an end part of the oil supply passage 13; a leak clearance 15 between slide faces of the cylinder 9 and the plunger 10; and a return spring 16 which energizes the plunger 10 to a protrusion direction from the cylinder 9. By only a type change of plugs 18, 18' and 18'' which are pressure-inserted into a cylindrical internal periphery of a penetration hole 17 reaching the pressure chamber 12 from a protruded end face 11 of the plunger 10, and by only an internal change for forming different air bleeding passages 20, 20' and 20'' by pressure-inserting, a chain tensioner which differs in hydraulic damper forces is manufactured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
