PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device which can be installed in a rotating machine while suppressing the increase in installation space and which can vibrate a rotating shaft during operation while supporting it, and a rotating machine including the bearing device.SOLUTION: A bearing device 1 includes: a sliding bearing part 2 which is arranged on the underside of a rotating shaft 4 configurating a rotating body in a multistage pump as a rotating machine and which includes an arcuate sliding face 25 capable of sliding on the rotating shaft 4 via an oil film; and a magnetic bearing part 3 which is arranged across the rotating shaft 4 and on the upper side of the sliding bearing part 2 and which can vibrate the rotating shaft 4 by electro-magnetic force.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
