[Problem] To prevent a puncture needle from buckling when inserting the puncture needle into a target such as the human body. [Solution] This structure is provided with a puncture needle 4 for insertion into a target 3, a movement means 5 for intermittently moving the puncture needle 4 in the puncture direction, and a support means 6 for supporting the puncture needle 4 directly above the target 3 during puncturing. In a state in which teeth 22 of a rack piece 18 of the movement means 5 are engaged with the teeth 13 of the puncture needle 4, the rack piece 18 is pushed downwards in the puncture direction, moving the puncture needle 4 in the puncture direction exactly the amount of the pitch of the teeth. Repeating this allows intermittently moving the puncture needle 4. In each intermittent operation, the interval L between a ratchet piece 23 of the support means 6 and the rack piece 18 prior to movement is set to a length at which the piercing needle 4 will not buckle.
