The invention relates to a gas hob (1) comprising a hob trough (2), a cover plate (3) which is arranged at a distance from the hob trough (2), a gas burner (4) which is secured to the cover plate (3), and a positioning and securing device (15) for positioning the gas burner (4) with respect to an opening (14) provided in the cover plate (3) and for securing the gas burner (4) to the hob trough (2). Said cover plate (3) is secured to the hob trough (2) by means of the lower part of the burner (5) and the positioning and securing device (15).
