PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a positive electrode of a lithium ion secondary battery securing safety in overcharge while exerting no influence in the normal use of a battery; a manufacturing method of the positive electrode; and a lithium ion battery using the positive electrode.SOLUTION: A positive electrode of a lithium ion battery includes: a positive electrode first layer which includes a gas generating material vaporized in a high temperature state to generate gas, a conductive agent and a binder and which is formed on a positive electrode collector of a lithium ion battery; and a positive electrode second layer which includes a positive electrode active material, a conductive agent and a binder and which is formed on the positive electrode first layer. When the temperature within a battery becomes high due to overcharge, the gas generating material in the positive electrode first layer is vaporized, so that the electrical resistance between the positive electrode collector and the positive electrode second layer increases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
