The operations include generating a rule associated with a startup screen based on the user history information and based on additional information. The additional information is based on information extrapolated from the user history information and based on external information that is not directly accessed by or provided to the customer premise equipment device. The operations further include initiating a transmission of the rule to the customer premise equipment device.

receiving user history information associated with a customer premise equipment device;generating a rule associated with a startup screen based on the user history information and based on additional information, wherein the additional information is based on information extrapolated from the user history information and based on external information that is not directly accessed by or provided to the customer premise equipment device; andinitiating a transmission of the rule to the customer premise equipment device.
