Embodiments of the present invention provide a network state synchronizing method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first forwarding device receives a control packet, wherein the control packet comprises network state information presented in a file format, and the network state information is used for indicating the property of a second forwarding device; and the first forwarding device acquires the network state information from the control packet. This solution does not rely on a negotiation result based on a routing protocol, and improves the network state synchronizing efficiency.
