The present invention relates to the technical field of browser, and disclosed is a web page picture display method in a browser. The method comprises: monitoring a mouse hover event on a web page picture element; if a mouse hover event on a web page picture element is detected by monitoring, for the first picture of the picture element, obtaining a second picture corresponding to a first picture (120); creating a window, and uploading the second picture into the window for display (130). The method directly displays the second picture having the same content as the first picture in a browser, without changing the display structure of the web page, and without clicking to enter a display interface of a similar photo gallery, and enables a user to clearly and completely view the picture content with an easy operation without interrupting normal browsing of the page by a user, thus achieving a simplified display of an enlarged picture.
