摘要 Provided is a novel method for detecting a bacterial cell with a device more simply and rapidly by utilizing a binding molecule capable of binding to the target bacterial cell. A method for detecting a target by incubating a sample in a bacterial cell concentration reagent to react the sample with a fluorescently-labeling binding molecule and then detecting a fluorescence polarization degree. The method is carried out using a bacterial cell detection tool. The bacterial cell detection tool is a tool in which a sample collection tool is attached to a main body, wherein the sample collection tool comprises a collection unit and a connection unit to the main body, the main body comprises a reagent housing chamber, a collection unit housing chamber and a connection unit to the sample collection tool, and the reagent housing chamber and the collection unit housing chamber are separated from each other. The sample collection tool and the main body are connected to each other at the connection unit in the sample collection tool and the connection unit in the main body in such a state that the collection unit is housed in the collection unit housing chamber after the preparation step and before the incubation step, and the inside of the reagent housing chamber and the inside of the collection unit housing chamber are communicated with each other after the preparation step to carry out the incubation step and the reaction step.
