This illumination device 12 has: a light source 190 for emitting light having a prescribed light distribution centered on a light axis L0; a light-incident surface 16a that is a transparent plate-shaped member including a hole 160 passing through in the thickness direction, the light-incidence surface 16a facing the light source 190 such that the light axis L0 overlaps the hole 160, and light from the light source 190 is made incident on the light-incident surface; a light emission surface 16c for emitting the incident light; a non-emitting section 160a comprising the hole 160, the non-emitting section being surrounded by the light emission surface 16c; a light-guide plate 16 that is adjacent to the light-incidence surface 16a and is disposed near the non-emitting section 160a, the light-guide plate having a light-receiving surface 16e for receiving most-inclined light L1 comprising light emitted in a direction that is the most inclined in plan view in relation to the light axis L0; and a reflection section 50 disposed so as to face the light-receiving surface 16e, the reflection section reflecting the most-inclined light L1 emitted from the light-receiving surface 16e, and directing the reflected light thereof L11 toward the non-emitting section 160a. |
